Jolly Doodles

For my sketch of the day I decided to try out a little speedpaint (which took like 1.5 hours or something, that is SO not speedy). It’s another environment, but this time I did not use a reference. My goodness you guys, I was flailing around the entire time not really knowing what I was doing at all XD I think it turned out pretty decently though! My buddy Frank, who usually critiques my work, found nothing bad to say about it. You know what that means… GET A SECOND OPINION! XD Just kidding Frank, thank you so much~
In my journey to get better at painting environments, I recalled how I got better at drawing people: I’ve been drawing them all my life, I’ve studied their gestures and anatomy, drawn from life, and practiced all the time. So painting environments should be no different whatsoever! I just gotta learn from others, paint from life (and references), and practice all the time! I’m feeling pretty confident—I started this painting  completely freaking out and not knowing what I was doing, and ended up with something I’m rather proud of. Progress!
