Marceline’s Dad is probably one of my favorite characters that ever appeared on Adventure Time, so I took a whack at his gender-swapped counterpart—Marshall Lee’s Mom!
Why Be a Princess When You Can Be a Queen?
Yes, I saw the preview too :P
I love Peebs and Marcy’s frenemyship, so much tension in there! Can’t wait to see the full episode!
Also, when Marceline started singing to/about Princess Bubblegum, I really wanted LSP to jump in like, “Oh my glob you guys! Drama bomb!!”
This blog is quickly turning into my fanart dumping site ~_~ SOMEBODY STOP ME I HAVE OTHER PROJECTS TO DO! Anyway, here’s a quick doodle
Now that PB/Marceline is ~basically canon,~ what will become of our righteous hero?
In my exhilarating epiphany about light and color, I decided that I desperately need to apply what I learned. I found myself going back to basics—finding colors was easy enough to do in oil painting, but on a digital I always froze up. So many colors, right in front of you, all the time! I started using the CMYK sliders, just pretending that I am adding paint. How horrifically simple, and I never realized until today.
Anyway, I wanted to draw something with a “moody” feel so I can play around with colors in light and shade. I wanted a better lighting situation… originally it was going to be a forest, or a figure half in shade and half in light, but all of a sudden my hand decided it wanted to draw something adorable. At first it was FemShep and Thane, but after having an abnormally difficult time with Thane I gave up and turned it into Raff and Petra—Nikki’s and my D&D characters.
I’m actually super proud of this piece just for the sole fact that I managed to somewhat properly color figures against a certain color background, instead of coloring them in a vacuum, so to speak. The little slivers of highlights are what their real colors would be in “daylight.” Like I said, it was really just an excuse to do some colors, so don’t mind things like subpar anatomy and half-assed background. I know about those :P
Expect more color practices from me as I continue my journey to discover LIGHT AND COLOR!
A bit of a warmup/break time doodle of dragon-king Raff. I downloaded a pencil brush for Photoshop, and is it silly of me to feel 10x better about drawing digitally now?
In which Thane sees Ashley in her casual outfit and thinks she has Kepral’s Syndrome :P Ya’ll know why, right?!
I came across this awesome artist, Goro Fujita, who has a speedpainting video/tutorial on his website. Since I want to get better at landscapes and environments, I watched the whole thing (several times lol) and then tried my hand at it. Here is tonight’s attempt, referenced from this image. I’m rather proud of this early attempt, here’s to getting better as I go along! :)
Also, I realize that I’m not posting every single bit of my 365 sketches. That’s okay XD Maybe I’ll start doing a thing where I round’em all up into a photoset each week. yeah, that sounds good.
